Environmental Protection Minister met reps of European Commission
Kazakh Environmental Protection Minister Nurlan Iskakov met with head and first counsellor of the representation of the European Commission representation in Kazakhstan on November 29
The meeting was devoted to the discussion of preparation to the 13th session of the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) scheduled for December 2007, and issues concerning positions of Kazakhstan and the EU on the second period of the Kyoto Protocol realization.
Adriaan Van der Meer expressed interest in the speedy preparation for the signing of the agreement between the governments of China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on integrated management of Ili-Balkhash basin.
Kazakh Environmental Protection Minister informed that draft agreement was sent to the experts of the regional ecological center of Central Asia for the finalization.
