Kazakhstan to impose quotas on pollutants discharge to water reservoirs next year: N. Iskakov

“Only 17 rivers, 4 lakes and 3 water basins can be referred to the category of “clean”,” Kazakh Ecology Minister Nurlan Iskakov has told today at the roundtable in the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament on “Ways of increasing efficiency of provision of Kazakhstan population with drinking water: problems, ways of their settlement, prospects.”

According to N. Iskakov, the Ecology Ministry of Kazakhstan intends to impose quotas on pollutants discharge to water objects. It will let provide efficient control over industrial environmental impact.
